By Lily Limón

Dee and Adair Margo were wrong to suggest City Representatives Brian Kennedy and Art Fierro should be recalled because such action would be counter to the city charter, it would suppress the rights of voters and further waste city resources to stage an election.

The charter doesn’t allow a recall within the first six months of taking office. More importantly, unlike a city manager who does not live full-time in El Paso and has never been up for election, the representatives told voters during their campaigns that they would vote to get rid of the city manager. They were transparent in their intentions, they won and to stage an expensive recall election would amount to suppression of voters.

The people have spoken and it’s time to move forward.
