blckfrid2016As some of you are aware, I have developed a life-style brand t-shirt around the “immigrants make America great” slogan in response to the dehumanizing of immigrants that arose during the most recent presidential elections. I appreciate the many comments letting me know how much you like the concept and the graphics.

Some of you have also commented that at $23, the t-shirts are little pricey. I understand but, unfortunately, there is not much I can do about the price. Since I want to embrace the “inclusiveness” of the immigrant experience in the US, I wanted to make sure that the T-shirts were designed by an immigrant – me, and produced by a US-based company. The T-shirts themselves are 100% sourced in the US. Thus, they tend to be more expensive than the imported ones.

The truth is that this project is more of an expression of my immigration story and not a money-maker for me. I make about $2.50 per t-shirt sold. However, today is Black Friday and I want to get in on the fun as well as to promote my brand.

Therefore, I am making a limited Black Friday T-shirt discount coupon available to you today for 15% off any t-shirt you buy this weekend, or for the first 100 t-shirts sold, whichever comes first. At 15% off, I lose money on the t-shirts and thus I have to limit the coupon to the first 100 t-shirts sold.

Just enter the discount coupon code: blkf-2016 (it is case sensitive) during check out to get your 15% discount.

Don’t forget that American Apparel sizes their clothing line extra, extra small, so I suggest that you order two sizes larger than you normally would.

  1. So when do I get my bandito, “I dont need no stinkin’ badge” tee shirt ? XXL. You can give it to me for Christmas for reading your blog every day, even when I was in Canada last summer. BTY, I’m going back for six months but it has nothing to do with the election.

Happy Thanksgiving, Martin. I’m grateful for you and all my Mexican neighbors here, especially for Yvonne’s margaritas in Palomas at the Pink Store.

    Sorry about the wall.
