I was talking to a diehard Donald Trump supporter yesterday about the Russian hacking of my blog, when he suddenly blurted out that he now thinks Trump will be unable to deliver on his promises to the voters. I was surprised because this individual has made it clear that I was completely wrong about Trump. I was expecting him to celebrate the hacking of my blog when I saw his name on the caller ID, so when he told me he was losing faith in Trump, I was momentarily taken-aback.
But, he is right about the Trump base and the evidence is starting to show.
Now well into his eighth month in office, Trump has yet to deliver any substantial legislation on any of his promises to his core base. There are many debates as to whether Trump is to blame or whether the political establishment is to blame. Up until Trump offered the suggestion that he would be open to a pathway to legalization for the so-called Dreamers, Trump’s base appeared solidly behind him. But when Trump suggested that he would support DACA legislation, allowing the Dreamers to remain in the country, a fissure in the Trump base appeared.
It was not much of a break in his support base, but it was there nonetheless.
But Luther Strange’s loss to Roy Moore earlier this week deepened the fissure within the Trump base. Moore beat Trump’s endorsee, Strange in the Alabama primary. The Trump base rapture was proved by Breitbart’s post arguing that Trump was receiving “awful advice” from Jared Kushner. Steve Bannon’s ongoing feud with Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is well-known, but it was assumed that Bannon’s Breitbart would limit its attacks upon Trump. Bannon is the voice of the core group of the Trump supporters, and when Breitbart attacks a Trump family member, it signifies a directed attack from the base towards Donald Trump.
The second failure to repeal ObamaCare, also this week, further adds to the Trump’s base displeasure in their champion, Donald Trump. As much as Trump, and surrogates, attempt to paint the failure of the repeal of the Affordable Healthcare Act on Congress, or Mitch McConnell, the Trump base is losing patience with the endless excuses.
Steve Bannon, and his base chose to support Roy Moore for the Alabama primary, while Trump endorsed Strange. Bannon’s Breitbart is now publicly blaming Kushner as the reason for the firing of James Comey and the resulting “dark cloud” over the Trump presidency. Breitbart goes on to blame Kushner for Trump breaking “one of his solemn campaign promises regarding illegal immigration” by supporting a path for legalizing the Dreamers.
Donald Trump has taken great pains to suggest that his election was on his own merits, and not that of Breitbart or Steve Bannon. However, there is no disputing the fact that Bannon is the voice for many of the Trump base.
John Nolte, yesterday, wrote on Breitbart (Nolte: Luther Strange Endorsement Is Just Latest Awful Advice Trump Received from Jared Kushner) that Kushner has, “succeeded in doing the only thing that could be fatal to Trump’s presidency…driven a wedge between the president and his supporters.”
I agree as to the sentiment that there is a growing wedge between Trump and his base. Whether Kushner is to blame is not important. What is important is that the Trump base is losing patience with the failed Trump presidency.
Martin saw your post yesterday more likely the NSA trolling you playing the Russians! NSA and other government agencies have been proven to be doing this for several years now and makes it look like the Russians in addition to other foreign interest are behind it. Also reported in the last few days Department of Homeland Security is now following foreign national bloggers on social media platforms. Seems very good chance this is what is happening with your constant Anti-American views. Can’t say for sure but can’t rule out a case is being put together for such blogggers to have them deported when government feels such people have became to big of a threat to theU.S., so precieved as a threat real or otherwise! May wish to think about this and this did not just start because of Trump been going on before he made it to office. So warning you could very well being watched by the dark state! So do not be so sure they haven’t planted programs in your system to keep taps on you and your activities. You may want to think about this!
