As you likely know already, the Claudia Ordaz text messages have proven that the MPO issue was a conspiracy to keep Vince Perez in charge of the MPO. The question is why. The answer is rather simple. One problem with your central thesis. There was never an effort to keep Perez as Chair of the MPO. The term is only one year and then it rotates. So you ignore the main fact that millions of dollars was lost through incompetence in order to push forward an idea that couldn’t possibly be true.
It’s one heck of a story, but I do have to give credit. That was a very smart move to develop the Scholars and groom future politicians. No wonder there is such a stranglehold. The only flaw was not discouraging questionable politics. Cries of corrupt and unethical by the representatives at each other is a complete embarrassement. Time to get serious about independent and informed voting.
It also explains the risks involved to take control of the MPO. All those taxes would have been used to build legacies and maintain control of the political establishment. They almost succeeded but for the foresight by Max to get the emails to prove there was something fishy. Thanks to DK for posting the information. And thanks to Martin for clarifying the scheme.
They did succeed in getting the children’s hospital to pay rent for something that been paid by taxpayers. Now they have some extra cash. What happen with the information about admission off conspiracy to commit fraud affairs to the Federal government ? Why is it off the radar ?
The failure of the attempted coup was not successful because of the belief that everyone is so stupid that no one would notice.
There is still more to be uncover. Now we have Romero in the hot seat. What is so difficult about legitimate governing. Has El Paso stooped so low that elected officials have assumed imperial status once in office ? Where does the attitude come from? Is it really the closeness to Juarez ?
