BIKER Run – Agreed to co-sponsor a toy run for kids with the West Texas Biker Club Confederation; El Paso Youth Appreciation Week – Recognized El Paso Optimists.  Activities will be held on November 7th at the Civic Center.  Optimists’ National President will keynote their banquet. Insurance Change – Approved a change of providers for medical insurance that would increase premiums and reduce benefits; Martin Luther King Food Drive – Linda King and Captain Clay Gardner are heading up a food drive.  Last year they gathered 32,000 pounds of food. HEALTH OFFICIALS URGE PEOPLE TO GET FLU SHOTS – El Paso Metro

Health officials are working to take care of senior citizens and other vulnerable populations with flu shots by November.  The flu season kicks in hard in December and January. Two small children die on the bridge due to carbon monoxide poisoning.  The camper they were in was improperly ventilated and idling at the bridge flooded the compartment were the children were riding.
