The election preliminary results for the 2024 city council runoff election are in. Here are the presumptive winners based on the preliminary counts released by the County Elections Department.
The New Mayor Is Renard Johnson
In the mayoral race, Renard Johnson faced off against Brian Kennedy. Johnson received 56% of the vote.

For District 1 – Alejandra Chávez
In the District 1 race, it was Alejandra Chávez against Monica Reyes. Chávez defeated Reyes with 63% of the vote.

For District 3 – Deanna Maldonado-Rocha
For the District 3 seat, it was Deanna Maldonado-Rocha against realtor Jose Rodriguez. Deanna Maldonado-Rocha received 64% of the vote.

For District 4 – Cynthia Boyer Trejo
The two candidates in the runoff for the District 4 race were incumbent Joe Molinar and challenger Cynthia Boyer Trejo. Cynthia Boyer Trejo defeated incumbent Molinar with 54% of the vote.

For District 5 – Ivan Niño
The District 5 seat saw Amanda Cunningham against Ivan Niño. Niño defeated Cunningham with 63% of the vote.

For District 7 – Lily Limón
Rounding out the city council seats were Chris Hernandez against Lily Limón. With 58% of the vote, Lily Limón is back on city council.

They join Josh Acevedo, Chris Canales and Art Fierro starting in January.
