Welcome to the launch of The Border Agenda, a podcast focused on the issues surrounding the border. The Border Agenda podcast is the newest podcast joining our growing list of El Paso Talks podcasts. The Border Agenda, hosted by Aldo Mena and Martín Paredes will be focusing on the myriad of issues surrounding the U.S.-México border. Aldo, a U.S. citizen Mexican American and Martín, a Mexican citizen, discuss border issues, each through the perspective of two individuals from each side of the border divide. In many ways, we represent the fronterizo identity who make up the U.S.-México border, culturally one but divided by a line on a map.
In the first episode of The Border Agenda, Aldo and Martín discuss the recent announcement by the Biden Administration that they will be adding to the border wall, a symbol of intolerance that the Trump Administration created. In this episode, the hosts discuss the confusion and what is driving the Biden Administration to break its promise to not build a wall on the U.S.-México border.
