Breaking News– The United States Senate voted today on the impeachment of Donald J. Trump. The vote on the two articles of impeachment went along party lines.

On Article One, Abuse of Power, 52 Republicans voted “not guilty”. One Republican, Mitt Romney, voted “guilty,” along with 48 Democrats and Independents.

On Article Two, Obstruction, 53 Republicans voted “not guilty”. All the Democrats and Independents – 47 in all – voted “guilty”.

There were 66 votes needed to find Donald J. Trump guilty of the charges.

The Senate closed the trial of Donald J. Trump at 4:41 p.m., Eastern.
