Unless you were living under a rock yesterday, then you likely know the important items in former FBI director James Comey’s testimony. There are many intelligent talking heads discussing the testimony and what it means so I won’t bore you with the analysis. However, I do want to point you to a very important issue that James Comey unequivocally stated – that Donald Trump is a liar.
I realize that the Donald Trump supporters among you will argue that it is a case of he said, she said and that you can’t believe what Comey has to say. It is the only spin Trump supporters have left in their arsenal to distract. James Comey has been criticized for many things but he has consistently been lauded for his ethics over many years.
During his testimony yesterday, Comey emphatically stated that he did not trust Donald Trump to honestly represent their meetings.
In other words, James Comey believes that Donald Trump is a liar.
Let that sink in for a moment, the then-FBI believed that he must document his meetings with Donald Trump because Comey believed Donald Trump would lie about their meetings. Not only that, but Comey felt it necessary to force an independent investigator by leaking his personal documents to the press because he did not believe that the Republican controlled Congress nor the Trump administration would properly investigate the Russian meddling of the elections.
The President of the United States is a liar, according to his then-FBI director. It is not the first time that Donald Trump has been called a liar. Most famously, another Republican, Ted Cruz called Donald Trump a “pathological liar” during the election.
The prestige of the Office of the President of the United States across the globe is based on the notion that the office holder is respected as well as epitomized for his honesty in his dealings with the country.
I guess that is what Donald Trump meant by making America great again; bringing dishonor to it across the globe. This leaves me wondering if Trump’s supporters really have any patriotism towards the United States.
