The judge in the contempt trail of defense attorneys Theresa Caballero and Stuart Leeds quelled a heated exchange Tuesday that pitted the prosecutor and defense attorney Caballero. The confrontation ignited when District Attorney Henry Garza, of Bell County, interrupted Caballero during her questioning of a prosecution witness.
The witness, who was a juror on the trial of former Judge Regina Arditti, appeared to agree with attorney Caballero more than with what she had earlier testified under questioning from DA Garza. The prosecutor called only two witnesses before resting his case.
The contempt trial is scheduled to continue through the week as more than 80 judges, federal agents, lawyers and other witnesses testify on behalf of Caballero and Leeds.
