As you likely know, Larry Romero resigned under a cloud of corruption. As El Paso is corrupt infested it is important to vet candidates that purport to run for office. Because political races are full of political rhetoric fueled by monied special interests working in the darkness it is important to pierce through the misdirection and understand each of the motivations behind each of the candidates.
For that reason I will begin putting together a detailed dossier on each of the candidates and publish the results on my blog. Because every position has two or more sides, I am offering an open invitation to each of the candidates to submit their own write ups about their positions and reasons why the voters should vote for them. I will publish the write ups submitted by the candidates completely and unedited.
It will be up to the voters to make their decision as to who they will cast their vote for. Regardless of whether a candidate submits a write up or not, I will publish my dossiers on each of them before the Election Day.
Here is an opportunity to get the word out about your candidacy.
The bottom line is that voters need factual information untainted by propaganda or misdirection from which to make their decision. I know and understand that politics, especially in El Paso relies on mobilizing a small and entrenched electorate that votes as dictated to by political factions. This is unlikely to change. This is especially true in an off-season election to replace a politician who has resigned.
However, one of the comments I often hear is that it is too complicated and time consuming to get involved in politics, especially when the news media cannot be relied upon to provide the necessary support. Change takes time and many little steps.
Today, I offer the electorate and the politicos one such step towards taking control back of your city. For the politicians it is an opportunity to get your message out to the electorate in your own words. For the electorate, here is an opportunity to get the information you need to make an informed decision. The ball is in your court now.
I can be contacted through the contact form on my blog or directly to: news [at symbol] elpasonewsinc.com.
I can tell you with certainity that one of the candidates is known for embellishment of military career and community achievements.
Cross check that resume !
Also investigate the cozy relationship that Tolbert has with Suzy Byrd, Veronica Escobar, et al. That gang arranged the investigations, using the El Paso Times like a violin, and finally forced Romero out. Their next target is Tommy Gonzalez, mark my words. The grand plan includes his falling into step if he gets elected. Surprisingly how many Hispanic voters in that district can’t find an honest candidate to run.
I live in District 2 and voted for Romero. I will not vote for anyone who is cozy with Suzy Byrd or Escobar.
