You may have noticed some changes on the blog over the last day or two. Like for many of you, 2020 has been a year of changes. I am now writing on three online publications in addition to my upcoming book. All of this in between my real job.
And, you all likely know there is an election a little less than a month away. Over the last four years I have spent an inordinate amount of time on Donald Trump. The simple reason is that he came out calling Mexicans, like me, “rapists”.
I got angry. And when he was elected I was even more angry in that the American electorate would put him in office.
It is time for me to get back to what I was originally doing which was focusing on the border. The roots of my writing has been El Paso corruption. I have also wanted to create an outlet for the Latino voices that are overlooked.
With that in mind, Miguel Juárez and I have been working hard on El Paso News. If you haven’t already, go check it out at this link.

But I do not want to give up this publication because there are 20 years of archives. I also want to continue to write about border issues. So, I have decided to update this publication to focus on border issues. Although I will try not to write about Trump, there will be occasional articles because, well he makes me angry.
I have been asked lately whether Trump will win in November. Sadly, I think he will because there is a 30-40% of the U.S. electorate that frankly does not care that Trump is a cheat, a liar and just an ugly human being.
The Democrats are too busy playing party politics that they fielded Joe Biden when there are more capable candidates.
If I could vote, I would vote for Biden just because anything is better than Donald J. Trump. But that does not make Biden a viable candidate and therein lies the problem.
I hope Joe Biden wins but I would not be surprised if Trump wins another term.
