As most of you know, perjury is another word for lie. Some of us believe that Donald Trump is a serial liar. For Trump supporters, it appears that the lies that Trump utters don’t matter. Whether you agree with that sentiment or not, there is one thing most of you would agree with and that is lying about your criminal activity is wrong, unless you happen to be a criminal.

Following this train of thought, there is one thing that Donald Trump supporters demand of immigrants and that is that they follow the law. Along with that is to be honest. This is especially true because of the concerns over border security. Immigrants are generally expected to be honest.

Yet, for the loudest anti-immigrants among Donald Trump supporters, it seems that for them it is OK for Trump to lie to the Mueller investigators. Put aside the debate on whether the Mueller Investigation is a “witch hunt” or not and focus on the notion about lying.

For Donald Trump supporters, there is the fear of Trump falling into a “perjury trap” devised by the Mueller team to put Trump into legal jeopardy. Let’s look at that for the moment.

Perjury is a lie.

The only way for Donald Trump to fall into a “perjury trap” is to lie. Let it sink in for a moment, the only way Trump can be prosecuted for perjury is by lying.

Why would anyone defend Donald Trump for lying to the American judiciary while expecting immigrants to be truthful?

Do you see the hypocrisy in that?

If you don’t, then you simply believe that immigrants are second-class people that must be treated differently. If that is what you believe, then it doesn’t matter because you will never accept an immigrant as an equal to yourself.

Bottom line is that a lie should never be acceptable, especially from an elected official.
