Many people are anxiously keeping their news feeds close by today as they wait for the announcement of who will be the first Trump associate indicted in the Russia scandal. Most readers reading this post today know that special counsel, Robert Mueller, will be filing indictments today. When the first indictment is announced, it will lead to a media frenzy and people all around the world will be glued to their news feeds. It will be a reality show circus, which is appropriate for the reality circus president, Donald Trump.
In 2004, FBI agents in El Paso started investigating massive public corruption in El Paso, Texas. Soon after, murmurs of indictments followed public search warrants of public offices and officials’ homes. Arrests soon followed. It became a pattern, more like a game, as people waited by their news feeds every Friday to see who the next official named in the public corruption cases was going to be. People waited for the perp-walk or the parade to the FBI offices by public officials that were soon to plead guilty for public corruption. Around 40 individuals ended up being tagged as criminals for their public corruption dealings at the city.
The national news media has four theories as to who will be the first Trump official to be paraded to jail. Some argue it will be Michael Flynn. Others argue that it will be Paul Manafort. Some have suggested that it is Roger Stone, to which Roger Stone reacted by going on a Twitter rampage resulting in his temporary ban on Twitter. And, then there are those who believe it will be an underling that will be used to pressure the higherups to plead guilty in exchange for leniency against the first crop of those indicted.
Regardless of who it is, it is the first step that might become a regular spectacle in the coming weeks. It might even become another El Paso-type parade of indictments delivered every Monday for the public to rally around. For Donald Trump, it is just another reminder that his presidency is just a very sad reality show driven by the Russia scandal and continuously fed by Trump’s Twitter tirades.
There is much for everyone today, from those opposed to Trump on up to his supporters. On one hand, people will be speculating what it means that someone was indicted, how they were arrested, or if not, why, and how closer the Trump administration is to impeachment. On the other side, the Trump supporters will rally behind the idea that it’s all just a great conspiracy. And, everyone will be looking to see how Trump responds to the latest spectacle in the Trump reality show. Twitter will surely be on fire today. As soon as I’ve confirmed who is/are indicted I’ll post it on Twitter. Follow my Twitter feed to get the news quickly.
Sit back and enjoy the show because it’s likely going to be a doozy.
Slow motion coup d’ etat to reverse the 2016 election that could precipitate Civil War II. Now, who do you suppose would like to see that happen?
Maybe we’re all being played for fools?
