Mexican President Calls Donald Trump a Liar

Last Monday, Donald Trump trumped up his wall rhetoric by stating that Enrique Peña Nieto, the Mexican president, had called him to compliment Trump about lowering undocumented immigration on Mexico’s southern border. The only problem is that Donald Trump lied. The Mexican government issued a statement on Monday denying that the Mexican president had called Donald Trump. The Mexican statement states that there has not been “any recent telephone communications” with Donald Trump.

In other words, Donald Trump had lied about the call.

I realize some of you might be inclined to believe Donald Trump over the Mexican president as such is the narrative that some of you would rather believe. But, unfortunately for the Trumpistas among us, the facts prove that Donald Trump is a liar.

On Monday, Donald Trump wasn’t through lying. He falsely stated that the Boy Scouts of America called him to congratulate him about the “greatest speech” that was ever made to the Scouts. Trouble is that the Boy Scouts of America have not only denied that call, but have also condemned the partisan nature of the Trump speech to their organization.

In one day, Donald Trump was caught outright lying about two different things.

These are not miscommunications nor misinterpretations but outright lies.

It is not the first time that Donald Trump has been caught lying. As a matter of fact, lying for Donald Trump has been his modus operandi for many years.

In the 1980’s, the Trump Organization made John Barron (no, not his underage son) available to news reporters for telephone interviews. John Barron was routinely quoted by news reporters reporting on Donald Trump businesses and personal life.

The thing about John Barron is that he does not exist. John Barron was Donald Trump pretending to be someone else on the telephone. Trump would have continued to use the pseudonym had it not been for a lawsuit in 1990. Trump may well also have denied he ever pretended to be Barron were it not for some Polish immigrants who wanted to their paychecks from Donald Trump for the work they had done for him. In a deposition for the lawsuit, Donald Trump was asked if he had ever pretended to by John Barron. Trump responded, under oath, that “on occasion” he “used that name.”

In other words, he lied.

Because Trump is a lair and his John Barron persona had been burnt, he decided to create another one. Once a liar, always a liar, you see. This time, Donald Trump created John Miller as his new alter ego. Miller aka Trump answered questions about his relationship problems with Marla Maples. Miller aka Trump pretended to be Trump’s “publicist”.

The reporter soon realized that the publicist was non-other than Donald Trump himself. Sue Carswell, a reporter for People Magazine, took her recording of the interview and played it to other reporters who agreed that Miller was Trump. Even Marla Maples confirmed that Miller was Donald Trump.

As a private businessman, caveat emptor, or buyer be aware, is part of private entities doing business together. But as a public official, Donald Trump’s penchant for lying is dangerous to the country and to the world.

Think about it this way, what do you think Kim Jong-un’s first thought is when Donald Trump demands that North Korea stop sending missiles towards the United States? If you thought “oh, I better stop before he blows my country off the map,” you better think again. Kim Jong-un’s first thought is to ask, is Donald Trump lying again.

Hence, the missiles continue to be tested and the nuclear weapons research continues.

And, Donald Trump continues to lie. Are you embarrassed yet, Donald Trump voters?
