A community group made up of Xavier Miranda, Raquel Rojo and Jean-Carlo Tirado have organized a Facebook live-streaming mayoral candidate forum. It is scheduled for September 12, starting at 10:00 am.
The online forum is expected to last until 1:00 p.m.
Community group moderators include Rich Wright for the ECO El Paso, Paso del Sur and Sunset Heights Neighborhood. Valentin Sandoval for the El Paso Equal Voice and Farm Workers Center and Ashley Rodriguez for Sunrise El Paso and UTEP Black Student Union.
The panelists include Kyra Lewis and Folasade Talabi for UTEP BSU. Carlos Marentes and Rosemary Puraverded represent the Farm Workers Center. Shelby Ruff and Fred Dalbin represent ECO El Paso. Josh Simmons and Ange Ulloa from the Sunrise El Paso group. Cemelli de Aztlan and Hilda Villegas from the EP Equal Voice Network. Sito Negron is representing Sunset Heights. And Selfa Chew and Ana Reza represent Paso del Sur.
Mayoral candidates Veronica Carbajal, Oscar Leeser and Calvin Zielsdorf have agreed to participate in the event. Dee Margo, the incumbent, Carlos Gallinar and Dean Martinez have not agreed to participate in the online forum.
