A new video released by Becky Gonzalez on Facebook shows Laura Strathmann’s neighbor rebutting the excuse used by Strathmann for taking her opponent’s political sign. Strathmann is in a run off election against Marlene Gonzalez.
The El Paso Politics broke the news of Laura Strathmann taking Gonzalez’ sign, a violation of election laws.
The El Paso Politics reached out to the Strathmann campaign via her website when the story first broke, but did not receive a response from her.
However, on social media, Strathmann released a video tape of her neighbor stating that he had asked her to remove Gonzalez’ sign from his property. The original video, it shows that Marlene Gonzalez’s political sign was on the public right-of-way.
Yesterday, July 2, 2020, Becky Gonzalez released a video on Facebook of the neighbor describing the sign incident. In the video he acknowledges that he never asked Laura Starthmann to take the sign. Furthermore, the neighbor states that Laura Strathmann called him after the theft video surfaced and asked him to do her a favor, create the first video Strathmann used to defend her actions.
As of press time, it is unclear if criminal charges have been filed against Laura Strathmann.
