Writer and author Debbie Nathan has published an incredible piece of history on how former City Manager Joyce Wilson engineered the creation of the arena in the Quality of Life Bond Projects. Nathan first posted her article on Chucopedia and after wide interest she posted it on her Medium account.

This important piece of history gives us insight on the process of how downtown boosters and special interests engineered the project. Nathan wrote the article in 2012 for Newspaper Tree, but it was never published. Since then, subsequent bureaucrats and politicians have continued to tow the line as if everyone voted for the project. We didn’t.
