In the following video Disability Advocate George Zavala interviews Monica Alfaro from La Familia Del Paso, a community health organization in El Paso, Texas. George states: “During this time of uncertainty, it’s important to talk about mental health and the resources available in the community.” He added, “La Familia Del Paso has been serving the El Paso area for many years and provides various mental health based services.”

The Accessibility Corner provides resources for the El Paso community. They recently set up a hotline for individuals with disabilities called the El Paso Disability Community Resource Network: (915) 333-6080.
George Zavala has been a member of the El Paso, Texas Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) and the Mass Transit advisory committee where he served as chair for both committees; he has also served on the board of directors for the Arc of El Paso, Paso Del Norte Lighthouse for the Blind and Volar CIL. He was the founder of United Advocacy of El Paso which conducted the first ever Accessibility Forums with the Mayoral candidates in 2016 and the Congressional candidates for District 16 in 2018. He, along with countless others has been involved in the creation and planning of the Accessibility Summit in 2017 and 2018. He was also the Founder of Celebrating Different Abilities which is designed to organize social activities for individuals with disabilities and their families.
