Let us be crystal clear about something, Donald Trump is currently under criminal investigation. No amount of spin and media manipulation will make that stain go away, ever.

As you likely know, the House of Representatives voted on opening a formal investigation into determining whether there are enough grounds to bring articles of impeachment against Donald Trump.

Trump surrogates are turning themselves into pretzels trying to spin that reality.

The House vote is the same as a district attorney reviewing police records and evidence to decide whether to file charges or not against a defendant.

Donald Trump is like an individual under formal criminal investigation by a district attorney. In Trump’s case it is not the DA, but rather the House of Representatives.

There are those that will argue that it is a partisan investigation. They are correct.

But like in many jurisdictions across the country, the district attorneys that investigate individuals are elected office holders, just like the representatives at the House.

So now digest this slowly, Donald Trump is under criminal investigation.

Will he be indicted, i.e. will articles of impeachment be filed?

Most likely because the Democrats cannot simply say, oops we didn’t find anything criminal to charge him with. The Democrats simply cannot allow the “investigation” to end without formal charges.

This will lead us to the next phase, Donald Trump under criminal indictment, aka, articles of impeachment.

That is the reality that Donald Trump and cohorts cannot spin away.
