In case you didn’t notice, Donald Trump went on a Twitter tirade over the President’s Day weekend. Like a child, he threw a tantrum. Like any child, there is an underlining reason why the tantrum happened. The dominoes are falling, and Donald Trump now realizes that his days are numbered.
During the Cold War there was a theory – the Domino Theory – that postulated that if the United States didn’t stop the influence of communism in one country, communism would then spread throughout the region. Dwight Eisenhower used the theory to explain why Communism in Indochina was dangerous to the world. This theory has also been used recently to argue why Islamic theocracy must be controlled in the Middle East.
Because the Russians interfered in the 2016 national elections – this we now know so stop pretending otherwise, and because Robert Mueller is methodically charging people – it is appropriate that we use the falling domino as an illustration of what the likely scenario will be by the time the investigation is over.
Some of you might have heard the news that Robert Mueller indicted Alez van der Zwann yesterday. Zwann is the latest individual to be indicted in the Mueller investigation. The others are: 13 Russians, Michael Flynn Rick Gates, Paul Manafort and George Papadopoulos. Flynn and Papadopoulos have pleaded guilty, as well as Zwann. Gates is rumored to be considering a plea agreement this week.
On Monday, news leaked out that Jared Kushner’s finances are being investigated by Mueller’s people. The impending doom of Kushner’s finances have been the topic of discussion for months, leading some to speculate if he has received foreign financial support to keep his organization afloat. It has also been speculated that Donald Trump received foreign investments for his business dealings after filing multiple bankruptcies. It is no secret that U.S. financial institutions are leery of loaning money to Trump’s businesses. The same is likely true for Kushner businesses.
It is important to remember that Charles Kushner, Jared’s father, was convicted of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion and witness tampering. He served 14 months, of a two-year sentence in federal prison. As you can see, shady business dealing is part of the Kushner clan.
At this point we know that the Russians interfered in 2016 presidential elections. We also know that there are various monetary irregularities with individuals close to Donald Trump and his campaign. We also know that Trump has no problem not paying his bills or shortchanging vendors, including filing for bankruptcy, to avoid paying what he owes.
Clearly, Trump’s ethics are highly questionable.
It is very possible that Donald Trump did not collude directly with the Russians. It is possible that he was a patsy, or a useful idiot for Vladimir Putin’s worldview. Whether Trump colluded with the Russians is immaterial because it is Trump’s own stupidity that will be his undoing. Trump allowed questionable people to get close to both his campaign and his administration. Trump also attempted to subvert the criminal investigation into Michael Flynn and may have also attempted to interfere in other criminal investigations.
Clearly, the dominos are starting to fall around Trump and he clearly understand this by his Twitter tirades.
It’s only a matter of time before we have conclusive evidence that Donald Trump is a fake president.
Donald Trump just makes it too easy for me to poke fun at him.
The dominoes are falling but only because those under investigation are a bunch of crooks (allegedly) and have been for some years, so why now?
This business of Russiagate is all poppycock. The hard evidence has been “trust us” and it’s “classified”. No collusion, no hacking, influence is not a crime, and the indictments of Russians was for show, to keep us in fear/hate of Russians. What is it they say about the ham sandwich?
Our government spent five billion to topple the pro-Russian dictator in the Ukraine and then some to install a pro-US dictator. It is said that we were fighting alongside the neo-Nazis and to get Joe Biden’s son a nice, cushy job. Now that is meddling in other’s government.
The MSM earns the ratings and big bucks promoting hysteria and distraction from other important issues.
Our whole system is corrupted from within. The Russians may have or may not have taken advantage of dark money in elections as sanctioned by the Supremes with Citizens United.
