I keep seeing writeups about Donald Trump’s lies come across my newsfeed daily. The latest was a Washington Post report analyzing the number of times Trump has uttered a lie. I’m not naïve enough to believe that Donald Trump is the only lying politician – although he pretends he’s not a politician – that lies. All politicos lie, that is what they do for a living. What got my attention is the idea that Donald Trump is the liar in chief.

It’s too time consuming for me to go through the history of the news media reports for the last president, or two, or three and as a result, I can’t scientifically quantify if Donald Trump lies more than any previous president. But the notion exists all around me that Trump is a liar.

The Washington Post article on Tuesday argues that Donald Trump lied 1,628 times in 298 days, or as the Post reports, Trump utters 5.5 lies a day. The Washington Post has a cool interactive graphic where you can search for the lies uttered by Trump that the publication has identified. As you know, I do not post links on my blog because it is too time consuming to go back and police dead links to other sites. But, you can Google “In 298 days, President Trump has made 1,628 false and misleading claims” to find the link. Check it out, it’s cool.

I cannot vouch for the veracity of the publication’s data, but I believe that if it were wrong, the Trump supporters would be pointing it out voraciously. As such, I accept the data as likely accurate. It’s accuracy, however, is irrelevant because the notion exists that Trump is a liar across the country.

And this brings me to the slogan that Donald Trump and surrogates adopted during the election: “Make America Great Again.”

It’s not a secret that I believe Donald Trump has demonized Mexicans and my country, México, for political purposes and as such, I oppose his administration. There are also those that believe so deeply in the Trump mystic that it doesn’t matter to them what people, like myself, believe about Trump. To the Trump surrogates, Trump is their savior.

But I can’t help asking a simple question, when a large and significant portion of the country and many world leaders view Donald Trump as a liar, what does that say about the United States of America?

More importantly, how does this “Make America Great Again”?

Once again you have fallen off your Cuckoo! People on the left and you helped get Trump elected. Most understood Trump wasn’t the best but Hillary was far worse. As far as any one demonizing Mexico Mexico pretty much does a good job of doing that well with out others help!.
