The Trump Administration Desperation

The recent release of the Donald Trump Jr. emails regarding the meeting between Trump surrogates and Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, has the Trump administration in desperation. Surrogates are in denial but the evidence is clear.

The emails show that Donald Trump Jr. met with Veselnitskaya to discuss potentially damaging information about the Hillary Clinton campaign. This is not in dispute. However, the Trump administration is concerned.

Typically, the Trump propaganda machine is on overdrive attempting to deflect away from the facts. What is different is their new desperation.

Donald Trump and surrogates have launched the new narrative centered on how Natalia Veselnitskaya attained permission to enter the United States. The argument is that former attorney general Loretta Lynch is part of a conspiracy that centers on Veselnitskaya offering damaging information to Trump Jr. in order to trap him in a political controversy.

Whether Veselnitskaya acted judicially or whether there is a conspiracy is immaterial. The issue is whether Donald Trump Jr. attending a meeting between someone representing themselves as a Russian interloper, willing to provide damaging information to the campaign about their opponent, was proper or not.

The argument about Lynch’s involvement is like arguing that a bank security guard is at fault for letting the bank robber into the bank.

Whether Lynch broke the law or acted maliciously is irrelevant to whether Donald Trump committed a crime or whether his actions constitute an ethical problem for the Trump administration. By trying to distract through Lynch’s part in the fiasco, the Trump administration is showing desperation to control the narrative.

In tomorrow’s edition will delve into why the Trump administration is concerned.
