I realize that as a blogger I sometimes tend to write novels instead of getting right to the point. I also realize that this drives many of you crazy. Many times I have to dig through layers and layers of disinformation to get directly to the crux of the matter. Seldom does the object of my piece reveal his true nature by his own words. In fact it is so seldom that it took many iterations of this post, some going upwards of 1,700 words, when I finally and grudgingly forced myself to delete it and move out of the way.

I finally decided that it was best to let Steve Ortega reveal his true nature with his own words.

Unfortunately I can’t help but add just a little commentary that to me is important. Obviously the arrogance he uses to dismiss the rights of the electorate is obvious. However, it seems that even his response to the city’s request had to be forced out of him. Notice the date stamp of the email Steve Ortega sent in response to city council’s action?

September 16, 2013 is the deadline imposed by the city for responses from the individuals the letters were sent to. Notice how Steve Ortega’s response at 5:32 in the afternoon was received by the city at the very last possible moment?

I do not know but experience makes me assume that someone, or many people were lobbying Steve Ortega to at least submit, something, anything so that there would be something to post online other than Steve Ortega did not respond to our letter asking him to voluntarily submit the documents in his possession responsive to the pending open records requests.

But, his arrogance should be of no surprise to any of you. Remember the blog I wrote exposing how Steve Ortega, in his own words, truly hates El Paso and its essence? Check it out here if you didn’t get a chance to read it.

And he wanted to be mayor!

And as always, here is the rest of the story. I believe someone, or many people asked him to submit, something, anything for a reason. As you read the rest it may make sense to you.

City Files New Motion

Yesterday the city filed another motion seeking to not only continue to quash the depositions but now the city is asserting sovereign immunity. They want the lawsuit thrown out.

The city’s position is that they have done all they can and they are asking the judge to rule that he agrees that the city has no authority to compel Steve Ortega to release his emails and that Stephanie Townsend Allala cannot depose the other individuals.

Basically the city is throwing a Hail-Mary hoping something sticks.

It also asked the judge to stay everything until he rules on whether the case should be thrown out.

Supporting the city’s assertion, Joyce Wilson submitted an affidavit insisting that as of September 17, 2013, the city has released all of the documents in it’s possession and that it did everything in its power to compel everyone to comply. Steve’s email at the last minute would support this hypothesis. Why? Because Joyce Wilson’s affidavit would be invalid had he not submitted his arrogant statement.

Contrary to the assertions made by the city attorney on Tuesday, the city is still playing games with the release of the documents. Not only that, the city is spending your money to do this.

Every new action by the city only raises the suspicion that they are hiding something. The question is what?

  1. Well, of course, El Paso will forget this and Steve will one day receive a Conquistador Award…

    And where’s Oscar?

  2. All emails must be released. It is the right thing to do. The problem is that you have dumb crooks that emailed and smart crooks who don’t have email accounts.
