As you know, last Monday, Melania Trump, Donald Trump‘s wife, was embroiled in a plagiarism scandal. Melania Trump plagiarized Michelle Obama’s 2008 DNC speech. Melania Trump has kept a low profile in her husband’s presidential campaign, although she is no stranger to mass media. Because of her low profile, she has not been scrutinized as much.
Most of you are aware that she is an immigrant, who immigrated to the United States from Slovenia. She is now a US citizen. She is also a model. Other than that, and being Donald Trump’s third wife, not much else about her has entered the political discussion.
Here are five things you probably didn’t know about Melania Trump.
1. Viktor Knavs, Melania Trump’s father, was investigated by the police in Slovenia for “illicit trade and tax evasion.” [1]
2. Viktor Knavs, Melania Trump’s father, in 1965 sued Marija Cigelnjak, a former girlfriend, because Viktor did not want to pay child support for his son. A court ordered test proved that Denis Cigelnjak is Melania’s half-brother. Viktor has yet to acknowledge his son. [1]
3. Melania Trump’s father, Viktor Knavs, was an active Communist (League of Communists) member in Slovenia, according to party records. Although, Slovenia at the time was under the dictatorship of Marshall Tito, only five percent of Slovenians were communist party members. [2]
4. Melania Trump’s real name is Melanija Knavs, she Germanized her name to Knauss for her modeling career.
5. Melania Trump dropped out of the University of Slovenia after her freshmen year, although the Trump Campaign and she continue to state the she graduated from there. [3]

So far all we have is her father’s activities. What does that have to do with her ?
None of us are responsible nor a reflection of character for our parents sins.
She germanized her name. How many people Americanize their names?
She plagiarized a speech that had nothing to do with policy. So did Joe Biden and others. She didn’t even write the speech, it was written by a speech writer.
Nothing of significance in commentary. Now if you want to discuss the possible future First Man (?) there is plenty of slime.
Is this such a slow news day that you have to keep talking about Mrs. Trump? Get over it, Martin, and move on to something that matters.
I am going to say something here that i have to say. I don’t agree with either party when it comes to rhetoric, especially political rhetoric. What i think is disgusting is your use of the Nazi uniforms and symbols you use in the Trump bashing. I can listen to different opinions and share some with the readers, but Martin i think comparing Trump either symbolically or intentionally as a Nazi goes beyond good taste. The Nazi regime massacred millions, including Jews, Catholics, Christians, religious leaders, the infirm, the handicapped, innocents. They developed and used mass murdering techniques in the name of the state. Auschwitz, Russia, Poland, Italy, and the entire European continent; Africa and South America; teaming up with the murderous regimes in Japan and Italy to execute their politics upon others and causing casualties around the globe. Those uniforms that represent that evil is how you portray Trump. I think this goes beyond not liking this man, and i understand that you are as many of us are pissed off about what he said about our heritage and peoples, but to liken him to the worlds most evil and vile party, the Nazi party has gone too far. I implore you, say what you want about him but don’t use these
symbols any more. I think it lessens your resolve to keep Trump out of the White House. I also think you are offending so many others who either lived the history or understand it. Trump and for that fact Hillary shouldn’t be portrayed this way.
She has a nice tush and will be the hottest FLOTUS in history.
As someone who has visited China a lot, I know a fair number of Communists who join the party simply because it makes it easier to get travel permits or jobs in high growth regions. I also know that Communism also fuels corruption and “false charges” for political or personal gain. So, Melania’s father’s activity is a non-issue as far as I’m concerned. Martin, I’m also glad to see you are now including attribution for your statements and that your plagiarizing has now stopped. There are bigger issues to be discussed about RNC. Cruz’s self destruction is one. Or, how about the fact that an open carry convention generated no incidents significant enough for the media to report. No clashes between protestors and Trump supporters, and no terrorist attacks. Guess the community organizers are reluctant to beat up on folks who might be packing more than a Trump hat and terrorists still prefer soft targets. In short, venues where trained people carry guns seem to be safer than gun free zones. Hmmmm.
Your forgot that her father’s friend’s uncle’s half-brother’s roommate’s sister’s ex-boyfriend’s father was a major figure in the Nazi party. If you are going to post about nothing, at least be comprehensive.
Thanks for the riveting info though. I was totally going to vote for Trump until I found out that his third wife’s father was a communist 30 years ago in a country that no longer exists. You have to draw the line somewhere.
The image we can’t get out of our head is Trump and Melania having sex on the national seal in the oval office. If “The Hill” gets it we do not have to worry about this with “The Hill” and Bill maybe with the “The Hill” and her girlfriend but not Bill.
I know that my politics were set at the age of 18 and I am sure Melania’s were too. Now I live in the former Eastern part of Germany and I hear stories about the former communists, also about 2% of the population, who jumped ship with the wall fell and swam to America. The other 98% who suffered under that party would disagree that being a member was only a matter of survival and convenience, because they did not make that choice and suffered under that moral choice. It took quite awhile to find an article like this one which addresses this fact. There is no denying that Tito’s government was one of the worst. And it truly amazes me that Americans have fallen for the ambitious, sweet Melania lie.

Ivanka’s father-in-law, Charles Kushner is a federal felon who served five months for eighteen counts of tax evasion, witness tampering, and more. Putin was in contact with Trump’s campaign and Russia hacked the Dem’s emails. Stay tuned for more. Just picture dinners at the White House with the Communist and the Felon at the table.
